Youth Committee

Midwest Charity Begins at Home Youth aims to empower our younger generation by joining us in our mission of raising funds to support local Midwest families.

Created on the 13/09/15, our youth committee had their first meeting and started to plan what they could do together to help make a difference in the community and raise money for Midwest Charity Begins at Home.

Some of their achievements over the last year have been:

The Giving Tree
Hospital visits with the Buccs
Membership Kits
Finding Dory movie premiere
Gold coin days in schools
Family quiz night
Cadbury chocolate run

Christmas on the terrace

Perth Wildcats Bingo night

Cakestall
and much more....

CONGRATULATIONS team - we are very proud of you and all that you achieve....!

The Giving Tree

Family Quiz Night

The FAMILY QUIZ NIGHT was a big hit, with $2,236.65 raised on the night.  The kids are already aiming for it to become an annual event!  Special THANKS to David Sorgiovanni who made a fantastic quiz master.

Finding Dory Movie Premiere

The FINDING DORY movie premiere was another excellent event with 130+ people filling the cinema to enjoy Dory and Nemo in action again!

Hospital Visits with the Buccaneers

Once a month, during the State Basketball League season, our kids head out to spread some love in the community with visits to the Geraldton Regional Hospital.  It's a great experience for our kids to head up to the kids ward with ambassador Mat Wundenberg and his team mates and have a chat to the young patients!

Young Leaders Day 2017

A fantastic trip to the Young Leaders Day in Perth - IMAGINATION - saw them experience incredible stories from the likes of:
Brad Ness - Paralympian (Basketball)
Poppy Star - Girl Skater
Tracy Vo - Today presenter, Perth
Her Excellency the Honourable Kerry Sanderson AC - Governor of WA
Peter Sharp - Social Artist
It was a very uplifting and motivating event, and inspired all of our youth committee to focus on achieving more!

Inspiration

Through out each year we give the youth committee a chance to meet and listen to someone who is achieving and making a difference in their chosen field.  Guest speakers so far have been our Youth ambassadors Mat Wundenberg (Geraldton Buccaneers), Ros Worthington OAM (Philanthropist) and Harry Taylor (AFL Footballer).

If you would like to be a guest speaker with our youth team, please email us at youth@charitybeginsathome.org.au

Cakestall

Sunday 21st May, saw us brave the weather for a cakestall at our local Rigters IGA.   We had a huge range of goodies donated from all the charity youth families with all of them selling before lunch!   It was a great effort with a great amount raised.

Perth Wildcats Bingo Night

HUGE SHOUT OUT to everyone who came along to support the very first Perth Wildcats regional Bingo night here in Geraldton, with Midwest Charity Begins at Home Youth. Thanks also to Pollinators for their donation, and a HUGE THANKS to Natasha Harradine for her MC role. It was a great night, and a great turn out..... THANK YOU x
